Early Spring

I got to do something this afternoon that I’ve been longing to do for the past week of beautiful weather. Go on a walk. I’m no photographer but I took my camera along and captured some of my favorite spots in town that are just starting to bloom.

It was just what I needed. And I promised myself to make it happen more often.

8 is Great

Noah turned 8 in February. He had a great birthday and baptism and he loves being a Cub Scout.

His birthday fell on the Blue and Gold Banquet and so he made his own birthday cake to join the other scouts in passing off something.

Lucky boy to have 3 grandpas at his baptism. I love this picture – thanks Cori.

Basketball

This was the first year our boys played basketball. It was hilarious. I really loved watching their games. Dribbling was totally optional and bear hugging was the best defense. Our team was made up of all Ryan’s little kindergarten buddies plus Noah. One of the other moms coached and she did an awesome job. They came a long way and had a great time. I really need to learn how to take action shots, mine were all terrible but I LOVE these of the boys studying their game plan.

Gwen’s Birthday

This year Gwen and her sweet friend Saige (they’ve been friends since they were babies they love to tell everyone) got manicures and Gwen cut her long hair off. They choose lunch at Panera and were hilarious at Target picking out a birthday outfit for Gwen (they are both bargain shoppers). So fun. Can we freeze and stay 10 forever? Please?

Christmas

I know it is ridiculously overdue, but I debated abandoning this old blog but kept feeling like I ought to come back to it. So now the catch up. First Christmas (it’s a long one).

Our traditional Christmas Breakfast (at dinnertime) was delicious. Fried oysters, fried apples, fried potatoes – are you catching on? Yum.

The video this year was great but I don’t want to learn how to post it. The kids get to come in one at a time. Grace was first in and then Ryan who fell on the floor (of course) when he saw his Millennium Falcon but when he saw Noah’s HP Legos he started yelling “Oh Noah! Oh Noah!” And then I accidently shut Gwen’s head in the door, teasing her about not getting to come in. Luckily she didn’t get too hurt and she was so excited that she forgot. Oops. The fun that followed:

This potty hasn’t gotten much use since Christmas morning.

Our cousins from Idaho sent us the best present. A box full of gingerbread house pieces and candy to decorate along with directions and tips. The Sunday after Christmas we had a snow storm and church was cancelled and this was a perfect addition to our snow day. We were supposed to send them pictures of our completed houses. Better late than never :).
