I may have overdone it. I just bought a few seeds. I’m determined to put my 1/2 acre to good use. Do you think my kids will have any place left to play?

Melon, Broccoli, Cantaloupe, Carrot, Cucumber, Kale, Lettuce, Peas, Red Pepper, Green Pepper, Pumpkin, Tomatillo, Tomato, Watermelon, Basil, Chives, Cilantro, Rosemary, Thyme

I still need to buy potatoes & sweet potatoes, sunflower seeds (we are finally going to build a sunflower house!) and some flowers.

And my husband is not fond of gardening.

That is awesome. I can't wait to hear how it all goes. I would like to try a bigger garden this year, but Kenneth says maybe next year. I did buy 2 gardening books this week though. I do like the dream of a garden, but not so much the reality of the work of a garden.

Every year I have such big dreams for a wonderful garden. I haven't quite managed it yet, but I'm sure this year will be it;) I say go for it. I figure that even if half of it dies and there are weeds galore (I'm talking from experience here) at least we get something and we love even that little bit. Good luck!

sounds like you need to join us on the 11 acres we will be planting on this year. Josh's grandpa's farm, we are excited!! I hope it all goes well, and you may need to tell Jared that you need a farm instead!!!He may not be fond of gardening, but he will love the money saved and the good food!

I think not fond of gardening is putting it way to mild. I get anaphylactic shock when I weed. And when I was 5 I drank the miracle grow on accident and have been six foot two since.

I feel the same way about gardening that Jared does but I want to be more like you Mychael-ann. You are so ambitious. You should see my overgrown mess of a backyard. Yikes.
