North & South

Have you seen this BBC movie?! AHH!!! It is my new favorite. I watched all 4 hours last night after I put the kids to bed. This scene about did me in. For crying out loud, LOOK BACK! And don't you love his scowl? You must watch this and tell me how much you loved it. What are your other BBC favorites?

I've heard it's wonderful. I haven't seen it yet. I really do need to take some time and watch it. I love the BBC movies because they stick so close to the books and are long enough to really tell the story.

I loved North and South. Finally a BBC where the guy is not scary ugly. I heard "Wives and Daughters" is really great too. It was originally written by the same author.

I also love this movie. The book is good too--the author tells you more about what Thornton is feeling and thinking. The movie is more from Margaret's point of view. Like Cami said, "Wives and Daughters" is good. If you want a cute romance, "Under the Greenwood Tree" is nice. My recent favorite is BBC's most current "Bleak House" by Charles Dickens. SO good, SO Dickens by way of symbolic characters (and slow beginning). Persuasion is still my favorite Austen novel, and BBC has 2 decent versions. The new one has more handsome leads, but the kissing is a bit too sentimental. Happy watching! and LOVE YOU!!!

I love this movie! Brenda lent it to me, but she said she liked "Wives and Daughters" better and wouldn't let me borrow that one. I got "Wives and Daughters" later, but "North and South" was way better. I need to watch it again.
